Tooth extractions vary in complexity, ranging from simple forceps removal to surgical procedures. Surgical extraction becomes necessary for conditions such as cracked, impacted, or severely decayed teeth, where simple forceps extraction is not viable.
You may decide on extraction for various reasons, including severe decay, advanced periodontal disease, irreparable breaks, or poor positioning (e.g., impacted teeth) in preparation for orthodontic treatment. While routine, tooth extraction is a critical decision, impacting chewing ability, jaw joint health, and tooth alignment.
To mitigate these concerns, Dr. Tran may explore alternatives to extraction and discuss options for replacing the removed tooth. At Abilene Surgical Associates, we prioritize your dental health, ensuring informed decisions and personalized care tailored to your specific needs. Welcome to a place where dental procedures are seamlessly integrated into comprehensive oral health management.
Some teeth require sectioning. This is a very common procedure done when a tooth is so firmly anchored in its socket or the root is curved and the socket can’t expand enough to remove it. The doctor simply cuts the tooth into sections then removes each section one at a time.
